Scapa Flow served as the Royal Navy's chief base during both World Wars and was the site of the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet in 1919. Today, its shipwrecks make it a world-class diving destination. The restaurant pays homage to this seafaring legacy while celebrating Orkney's vibrant food culture.

Named after the traditional Orkney flattie, a sturdy flat-bottomed rowing boat once used for fishing and transport in Stromness, the café pays homage to the town's rich maritime heritage.
