The Story Behind the Name
Inspired by Scapa Flow
The restaurant takes its name from Scapa Flow, the vast natural harbour surrounded by Orkney's southern islands.
Scapa Flow played an important role in British naval history and served as the Royal Navy's principal base during both World Wars. It was also the location of the scuttling of the German High Seas Fleet in 1919.
Today, its sheltered waters, historic shipwrecks and dramatic coastal scenery attract divers and visitors from around the world. Scapa Flow Restaurant pays tribute to this maritime legacy while celebrating the food, hospitality and character of modern Orkney.
